-
A memorial planner helps you bring all the pieces of a meaningful farewell together. Think of us a little like an event planner, but with a very different understanding of grief, family dynamics and what it means to honor someone’s life.
We can help with everything from finding the right venue and suppliers to music, flowers, food, photographs, personal touches, timelines and the overall guest experience. Most importantly, we help make sure the memorial actually feels like the person it’s for.
-
Muldowney Memorials works with families in New York, Florida, North Carolina and Washington, DC, and Ireland with additional locations considered depending on the project.
We also work virtually with families and funeral professionals, and our online courses and educational resources can be accessed from anywhere in the world.

Getting started is simple. Fill out our contact form and tell us a little about what you’re looking for. We’ll get back to you with the best next steps, answer any questions and let you know how we can help.

We believe a farewell should feel like the person it’s for — not like every other funeral you’ve attended. With nearly two decades of experience, we bring together memorial planning, celebrancy, hospitality and creative thinking to help families create something genuinely personal.
We’re not here to tell you how a funeral should look. We’re here to show you what’s possible.
-
Absolutely. We regularly work alongside funeral directors and other funeral professionals.
We’re not there to replace your funeral home. Our role is to complement the services they provide, particularly when a family wants additional help with personalization, ceremony, hospitality or planning a larger or more involved celebration of life.
-
Yes — in fact, this is a big part of what we do.
A meaningful farewell doesn't have to take place in a funeral home or follow a traditional format. It might happen in a favorite restaurant, garden, beach, private home or somewhere completely unexpected. It could take place immediately after a death or months later.
We'll help you work out what feels right for the person you're remembering and the people who loved them.
-
Both. Every ceremony is created around the person and family we're working with.
We can incorporate religious or cultural traditions where they're meaningful, create a completely non-religious ceremony, or combine elements that reflect different beliefs within a family.
There's no standard Muldowney Memorials ceremony — that's rather the point.
-
As soon as you know you may need us.
For a funeral or ceremony taking place shortly after a death, we understand that there may only be a matter of days to plan. For celebrations of life and larger memorials, having more time gives us greater flexibility with venues, suppliers and all the details involved.
We also work with people who want to plan their own memorial in advance.
-
Yes. You don't necessarily need full-service memorial planning.
Some families want us to handle everything, while others simply need help with the ceremony, finding a venue, developing the concept, coordinating the day or figuring out how to make the memorial feel more personal.
Tell us where you're stuck and we'll let you know how we can help.
-
Yes. You don't have to wait until someone dies to think about their farewell.
We can help individuals explore and document what they would like their own memorial or celebration of life to look and feel like. Pre-planning can cover everything from music and readings to venues, food, photographs, personal details and the kind of experience you'd like people to have.
And yes, you're allowed to have some fun with it.
-
